Drawn and engraved by John Rapkin for John Tallis & Company, the map offers detailed hydrography and geographic markings for major island groups including the Maldives, Seychelles, Laccadives, Chagos Archipelago, Andaman, and Nicobar Islands. An enlarged detailed inset map at the lower right illustrates the topography and regional divisions of Mauritius (Isle of France).

Condition: Light age-toning and minor foxing spots scattered across the upper and lower central portions of the sheet.. Full original margins present with minor handling wear along the extremities.. Clear, dark impression of the intricate decorative border and finely detailed vignette illustrations.
