A striking late 19th-century albumen photograph capturing the ancient, sealed Golden Gate (Gate of Mercy) on the eastern wall of Jerusalem's Old City.
Condition: Excellent contrast and rich sepia tones with minimal fading. Slight wear and minor chipping along the top left edge. Unmounted sheet with clean borders. Verso details. Mild even toning across the sheet.. Penciled stock number "5048. x" in a box on the left edge.. Light handling wear and faint ghosting from the printed image on the front.
