An exquisite late-19th-century albumen photograph by Félix Bonfils capturing the intricate wooden Minbar of Saladin inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem before its destruction in 1969.
Condition: Excellent rich sepia tones with strong contrast.. Very minor edge wear and light handling creases.. Minor overall warping typical of unmounted vintage albumen prints.. No significant tears or foxing.. Verso details. Light, uniform age. toning.. Faint ghosting/bleed. through from the printed design on the recto.. Pencil inscription "(5715. 28)" near the bottom edge.. Minor edge wear, otherwise clean and stable.
