A striking late 19th-century albumen photograph by the renowned Bonfils studio capturing the ruins of the ancient Roman Oval Plaza (Peribolos) in Gerasa (modern Jerash, Jordan).
Condition: Fading and warm sepia toning consistent with age.. Small crease and tiny closed tear at the upper. left corner.. Minor edge wear and curling.. Clean overall with no significant foxing or stains.. Verso details. Overall light toning consistent with age. Hand. written pencil markings "5114. 28" on the left and "1000" near the bottom margin. Faint handling crease near the right edge
